After provoking the crisis at Library and Archives, the government shifted the focus on the Canadian Museum of Civilization, eliminating research and collections from the
Museum’s mission and reorienting exhibitions on a “Canadian identity” with a conservative twist. Bill C-49, An Act to amend the Museums Act to establish the Canadian Museum of History and to make consequential amendments to other Acts, will be on the calendar of the House in the coming days.
